professional Overview
An energy and sustainability professional passionate about unlocking capital to deliver innovative solutions that drive clean energy access, climate action, and sustainable economic development. With extensive experience across renewable energy, decentralized smartgrid systems, sustainable infrastructure, and impact projects, I have worked at the intersection of technical innovation, commercial strategy, and social impact. Over the last 8 years, I’ve led multidisciplinary teams and cross-sector stakeholders in delivering smart grid solutions, solar-battery microgrids, and energy access projects for both private and public sector clients. I excel at evaluating complex opportunities, identifying value propositions, developing business and investment cases and delivering socially-impactful solutions. I’ve played a central role in developing business cases for high-impact & commercially viable projects across Africa and the United Kingdom - developing models and investment tools that support smarter decision-making and accelerate market adoption.
I bring a unique multidisciplinary perspective, combining deep technical expertise with commercial acumen, stakeholder engagement, and a systems-level approach to sustainable development. My competence spans energy systems design, financial modeling, project management, smartgrid optimization, and environmental asset transactions. Committed to bridging the gap between climate ambition and practical implementation, I aim to accelerate solutions that align environmental, social, and economic outcomes, particularly across emerging and frontier markets. I continue to explore the intersection of energy, capital, and innovation, and remain committed to building ventures and ecosystems that address energy access, inclusive development, and equitable climate impact at scale.

Work Experience
-
• Led the techno-commercial development of > £10mn distributed energy and smart grid solutions combining solar PV, battery storage, EV charging infrastructure and flexible demand assets, translating complex client decarbonisation goals such as capacity constraints, load scheduling, etc., into investable project propositions.
• Built and maintained project financial models and investment cases to evaluate project viability, optimise capital deployment and inform client decisions on energy infrastructure investments.
• Worked cross-functionally with sales, legal and delivery teams to structure commercially viable proposals, support contract negotiations, and ensure alignment between commercial terms, technical design and project delivery.
• Advised private and public clients on energy cost reduction and decarbonisation strategies, developing tailored energy system solutions and communicating the technical and financial value of distributed energy investments.
• Designed complex distributed energy and smart grid systems integrating > 5 MWp of solar PV, > 2 MWh battery energy storage system, wind and flexible demand assets, translating technical system design into commercially viable energy infrastructure solutions aligned with client decarbonisation and cost optimisation goals.
• Developed energy system architectures for residential, commercial & industrial clients, and developers, enabling tailored distributed energy strategies across diverse demand profiles and operational constraints.
• Built advanced techno-economic modelling tools to evaluate system performance, optimise asset sizing and accelerate the development of client business cases and investment decisions.
• Designed and implemented the company’s asset performance monitoring and verification framework, including automated alerting, weather normalisation algorithms and fault detection systems, enabling improved operational performance tracking and transparent reporting to clients and investors.
-
• Led the development of investment-grade renewable energy proposals and feasibility studies, securing over £1mn & $500k in grant funding from global institutions including Innovate UK and the World Bank to advance clean energy access and social-impact infrastructure projects across Nigeria, Sudan and the Democratic Republic of Congo
• Originated and supported the financing of distributed energy projects across African markets, contributing to ~£1m in private investor funding rounds and closing $210k in environmental attribute sales to a global technology company to support commercial & industrial, flower farms and Safari lodges renewable deployments in Kenya
• Directed the end-to-end development of renewable energy projects, spanning resource assessment, techno-economic modelling, tariff structuring, financial analysis and system design to ensure commercial viability and long-term operational performance.
• Conceptualised and developed the WaveGo Microgrid in Nigeria - a $456k World Bank-supported community energy and green business zone delivering cost-effective solar-powered electricity alongside productive-use infrastructure such as water access, telecommunications, e-mobility and retail facilities, generating economic activity and employment within a local community.
• Led the integration of productive-use energy customers into eStreet, a scalable microgrid-powered business hub developed under the Innovate UK Energy Catalyst programme, supporting the creation of local enterprise clusters powered by reliable renewable energy.
• Conducted market and regulatory analysis to support international development institutions, including the Assessment of Distributed Energy Market in Sudan for the World Bank, and recommended market-based mechanisms to scale renewable energy deployment in the Sudanese energy sector.
-
Residential and commercial solar hybrid microgrid engineering and delivery
• Managed the delivery of distributed solar and battery storage microgrid projects for residential and commercial clients, overseeing the implementation of systems of up to 114 kWp solar PV and 460 kWh battery storage from design through commissioning.
• Provided engineering and design oversight for project proposals and implementation, ensuring technical feasibility, system performance and alignment with client energy requirements.
• Strengthened client relationships and service delivery by proactively addressing operational issues and resolving customer concerns, significantly reducing complaint escalations to senior management.
• Redesigned and standardised the company’s project delivery framework, developing a formal Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) that streamlined implementation processes and improved project execution timelines.
-
Smart meter design, engineering and manufacturing; Energy audit and efficiency assessment
• Performed energy audits and energy use assessments for commercial and industrial clients, identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements, cost savings and emissions reductions.
• Led a data-driven analysis of customer complaints and product feedback using root-cause analysis tools (including Ishikawa diagrams), identifying recurring smart meter defects and contributing to improvements in product quality and reliability of > 10,000 smart meters annually.
• Conducted smart meter integrity testing and calibration validation using laboratory test benches and handheld calibrators to ensure meter accuracy, compliance and operational reliability.
• Applied process optimisation methodologies, including Critical Control Point design and Pareto analysis, to improve smart meter production efficiency and reduce customer complaints by ~40%, while coordinating operational oversight with the production team.
